Merry Christmas, everyone! Happy Holidays, as well!

So, Christmas Eve was fun. I spent it with family and it was pretty chill. Usually, somebody always gets upset with someone and that ignites an argument, but this year nobody got angry. Pretty cool if I do say so myself. That makes me happy. The only disappointment this year was that my little cousin, who I wanted to see when I was supposed to go see New Moon (which, by the way, I finally saw), didn't end up going to my grandmother's house. I contemplating disowning him since it's practically been a year since I've seen him. Haha, no, I'm just kidding. I love him too much to disown him.

Anyway, when we got home, I watched The Nativity Story, a tradition my family (mostly me) has. I love the music behind that movie. Seriously, the score has a undertone of modern Christmas carols (like Veni, Veni, Immanuel) underneath the original score. Really, pretty. Plus, as stupid as this sounds to some of you, I always cry when baby Jesus is born. It is the most inaccurate and corny birth ever, but, I don't know...it just makes me shed happy tears. I think I find beauty in the humility of the birth...or, maybe not *Contemplates*

I also spend the remainder of my time Roleplaying on this forum I'm on. Good times, good times.

So, anyway, Christmas Day is here! Seriously! Freakin' amazing Christmas! I think it was one of my best. I am so happy because I finally got the boots I've been wanting for a year and the FEDORA I've been bugging for! I was so happy when I saw it. It is gorgeous! Completely black in its coloring, which is great since a majority of my clothes are black. Then, I got aviator sunglasses, which, again, makes me happy, and a bomber jacket to go with it. I'm lookin' stylin', yo. Haha, I always sound dorky when I talk like that.

I also got the Michael Jackson DVD and 2010 Calender that I had been eyeing. Whoo hoo! There are these super nice pictures for October, May and June that I like. Anyway, that's some more stuff to the Michael Jackson collection. Oh, I also got a This Is It poster. The picture for June - the poster - is one I want to get eventually.

Anyway, how was everyone's Christmas? Get anything good?

Alice in Wonderland!!

Sun Dec 20, 2009, 2:52 PM

  • Reading: Manga
  • Watching: Alice in Wonderland Trailier

Has anyone seen the trailer for the new Alice in Wonderland movie? Oh my God, seriously, it looks amazing. One of my good friends was freaking out about it and showed me it and I was sorely impressed. Now, I might be biased because I am a big fan of Tim Burton movies (I think the only movie I didn't really like was Mars Attacks!, but whatever).

The movie is basically about Alice's return to Wonderland (I believe it's based off of the second book in the series, Through the Looking Glass). Now, before anyone throws a hissy fit about why Burton has named it Alice in Wonderland and not the title of the second book, here's my argument: I think he named it that for the sake of familiarity. Many of us aren't familiar with the second book's title. Anyway, I'm not positive if it's the truth about the movie being about the second book, but I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy it regardless for several reasons:

Danny Elfman is the composer of this movie and I'm excited because I like a lot of Elfman's work - especially when you combine him with Tim Burton. On top of that, the actors...oh the actors involved in this movie!

Johnny Depp is playing the Mad Hatter, and I'm happy they got him. I absolutely love him in every Tim Burton movie he's come out in (Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Edward Scissorhands, etc.). In my humble opinion, combining Depp, Elfman and Burton is fabulous!

Helena Bonham Carter is playing the Red Queen in the movie. Her head is huge, but whatever, because I love Carter. I couldn't have picked a better actress to play Bellatrix Lestrange (have you heard her cackle in that movie?), so I'm excited to see her interpretation of the Red Queen.

Anne Hathaway is playing the the White Queen, Alan Rickman is playing the Caterpillar, and...oh! You just have see the entire cast, seriously. I'm excited.

On a different note, I'm done with finals and I'm back to writing!

Finals

Finals are this week and I am at my wit's end. I really shouldn't be, since I'm passing all my classes, but I am so...stressed. I have been studying like mad, taking breaks to write in between, but it feels like there's this heavy weight on my shoulders that won't just go away. I can't wait until Saturday, because then all my finals will be finished.

Tomorrow I have my math and theater finals. I'm completely freaking out about my math final because I can't remember half of what we learned. I have the latest chapter down, but I have zip knowledge about the two chapters prior to it. So, I am going over my previous tests and study guide like mad. As for my theater final, I am having a hard time remembering which lights are used for what and the hell lighting designers do. Again, study guides have become my life!

On Wednesday is my medical ethics final. This one is the bane of my existence! I have a harder time with this class than all my other classes and my notes from the semester look like crap! Luckily, my teacher is letting us write some notes on the inside flap of our blue book...I would be so screwed if he didn't let us because I would not be able to remember all the articles we've read.

Thursday is my Asian-American studies, but I'm not stressed about that. Why? Because it's a party :D We already completed our finals for that class and my teacher thought it would be cool if we had a party to celebrate the semester finishing. I thought that was awful nice of her.

And Friday...that's my history final. I'm partially stressed about that because it's my major. I should get a good grade on that. I'm also not stressed because I'm good at history. However, it's a lot of material to cover. Six chapters to cover - at least!

Ugh...wish me luck everyone!

Immature PPG/RRB Shippers

Sat Dec 12, 2009, 1:28 PM

  • Listening to: Powerpuff Girls Theme Song
  • Reading: My Bioethics Textbook (Damn Finals!)
  • Watching: The Mummy

I really shouldn't let it bother me, but I am getting so upset at the immature PPG/RRB shippers that go around bashing other couples. Seriously...wtf?! I mean, they act like PPG/RRB is canon when it's not! I mean, Buttercup/Ace is more canon than PPG/RRB and yet these bunch of twelve-year-olds (in mentality, at least) go around screaming "OMG!1!!! EWEWEWE!!1! LYK, MOJO AND BLOSSOM??? U SICKO!!! PPGRRB 4 EVA!!122121!!!" to everyone who doesn't ship the Rowdyruff Boys and Powerpuff Girls together.

...it embarrasses me.

Seriously, though, it's a little disturbing because these kids are giving PPG/RRB shippers like myself a bad name. I'll be honest and say I'm a closet Buttercup/Mitch (or Ace), Brick/Princess and Blossom/Butch (yeah, I know, odd combo, huh?) fan. However, I just happened to love PPG/RRB more, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go around bashing other fans that don't like my ships. I mean, Kataang has more of a reason to smash their cockiness in Zutarian faces since the end of season three, but, even then, I don't condone it. I'm seriously in disgust with the people shipping my favorite ship.

You know, I'm sure a lot of anti-PPG/RRB shippers would, at least, tolerate PPG/RRB shippers if they just grew up and learned to accept that PPG/RRB isn't really canon. I sincerely apologize to all those who have suffered this stupidity. Seriously, tell your anti-PPG/RRB shipper friends that I apologize and that there is at least one self-proclaimed RRB/PPG and Brick/Blossom Empress out there that is mature enough to understand that these so-called "crack" pairings have more of a basis than the RRB/PPG do.

Also, I have a question: why the hell is "Bell" a character choice at FFN? She's not even canon! I can understand the Powerpunk girls over Bell. I mean, really, why is Bleedman's work considered canon when, in reality, it's just a lot of well done fan work? Am I the only one bothered by this?

Anyway, early Merry Christmas, all :holly:

Pokemon :D

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 28, 2009, 1:16 PM
I have gotten into a new Pokemon kick lately and I have no idea why. I used to be a religious follower of it right up until Misty/Kasumi left the show. After that, I couldn't bare to watch Ash/Satoshi travel around with May and Dawn without Misty. Not because I don't like them or because I felt threatened for my ship, but because it wasn't the same without Ash and Misty constantly arguing over something like getting lost :XD: It lost the magic touch...

However, lately, I've been reminiscing by going back and watching all the movies and episodes that I missed and let me tell you, the Johto League is still my favorite season, haha and Pokemon: The First Movie and Pokemon 2000 are still my favorite movies. And I realized that I am still (and probably always will be) an avid Pokeshipper! Ha ha. I've also realized that I have become a Contestshipper (May/Drew) and Ikarishipper (Dawn/Paul). I think it rounds out everything nicely and everybody is happy that they have someone to love (plus, Ash can still belong to Misty ).

Ahem, I also noticed something else: I'm not bugged, really, by the Pokemon dubs. Usually, I get all huffy about the English dubs being crappy (Bleach is the one English dub I actually like), but, for some reason, only two shows I am okay with the poor quality of the dubbing: Pokemon and Sailor Moon. I think it's probably because I loved both as a kid and used to watch them religiously, so I have a soft spot for the original English voice actors. However, I don't like the "newer" voice actors for the English dubs. After Veronica Taylor (Ash) and Terri Hawkes (Usagi) left, I couldn't stand to hear the characters' voices :XD: But, alas, they do have a soft spot for me.

OH! And Pikachu is still my favorite Pokemon! *Huggles Pikachu*

Go Pokeshipping!

One month (from yesterday) until my birthday!
